Nexerus merges Extended Reality (XR) with AI-generated imagery to create a new photographic medium, and questions how this technology could shape culture and the natural world.
As XR becomes mainstream, digital overlays will become integral to our daily snapshots. With additional AI integration, our senses will increasingly be driven by machines.
As these machines learn to alter what we see, what could they make us think, feel or do?
MONUMENTAL SERIES
For thousands of years, cultures represent themselves by building giant permanent structures.
The first series in the Nexerus project, Monumental places AI generated monuments into our real world, in real time. The series is currently in production, and will be completed by end of 2024.

AI + HUMAN + XR
I bring this vision to life by integrating AI and XR technologies. Discussing the concept of monuments with AI, I generate newly imagined structures. I manually place the Monuments into real-world landscapes using XR, then capture the results through still and moving images. I then gather feedback from AI and Humans.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
I blend future-tech and nature to create dark, timeless worlds. The first ever artist to embrace XR as the photographic medium, I create moving images on location in real time, without relying on post-production workflows.
I believe that understanding our relationship with technology is crucial to preserving our humanity and the natural world. Inspired by futurist philosophy, practical cinematic FX and my surrounding landscapes, I explore the impact of blending the future with the present and past.
A full-time image maker since 2010, I split my time between London, UK and the Island of Madeira, Portugal.
